NEVER REPLICATED

How custom work happens here

1

Consultation

Sit down with your artist and talk through your idea, its meaning, placement, and your budget. Every design starts as a conversation.

2

Your artist designs it

Your piece is drawn for you and only you. We don't copy other artists' work, and your design will never be repeated on anyone else.

3

Adjust until it's right

You'll see the drawing at your appointment, with time to make any changes. We don't begin until you're completely happy.

BEFORE YOUR SESSION

Preparing for your tattoo

A little care the day before makes a big difference in the chair.

Sleep well the night before. Rest makes the session easier on your body.

Eat a full meal before you arrive, and bring a snack for longer sessions.

Hydrate in the days leading up to your session. hydrated skin takes ink better.

No alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment.

Dress loose and comfortable, with easy access to the area being tattooed.

Skip the numbing cream unless your artist approves it first. Always ask before applying.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

Tattoo aftercare

Your tattoo's healing is in your hands for the next two weeks. Follow these steps exactly, and it will thank you for decades.

List of items needed

SOAP

Fragrance Free, dermatologically safe, antimicrobial soap. Dial or Mrs. Meyers are the standard.

PAPER TOWELS

Clean paper towels for gently drying the area.

SALVE

Tattoo Lovers CBD Care Salve – do not share your salve with anyone else to prevent cross contamination.

Instructions

1

Leave on your bandage/covering for 1-2 hours after you leave the shop.

2

Wash your hands thoroughly.

3

Gently take the bandage off.

4

Run your faucet with lukewarm water.

5

Wash your hands again.

6

Take a quarter-sized amount of soap, and gently clean the residue off the tattoo. Do NOT scrub. Do NOT scratch. Do NOT peel.

7

Gently dab-dry the tattooed area with a paper towel. Do not wipe or rub; this is an open wound. Reducing excess trauma to the skin is necessary in a successful healing process. Wash your hands again.

8

Take a small amount of Tattoo Lovers Care, and apply a tear drop of the salve. You do not want to over-apply this salve because it will clog the pores of your skin and your skin needs to breathe. Overapplication of the salve can result in unnecessary irritation/acne, redness, discoloration, pimples, and heavy scabbing.

9

Repeat this process for TWO TIMES A DAY for TWO WEEKS. Always make sure that your hands are clean before touching the tattoo. Gently wash your tattoo at least once a day.

10

DO NOT PICK at your tattoo. Pulling at flaking skin or scabs will prolong healing, remove color, or re-open wound to potential infections (which is NOT the responsibility of your artist!). Remember, we've seen it all, so we know when you've been picking and we do not offer free touchups for color loss that is the result of improper aftercare. You may indefinitely keep up the moisturizing process if you would like, but it is not necessary.

WHILE HEALING

DO NOT PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO DURING THE HEALING PROCESS!

SUN & WATER

DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR TATTOO TO THE SUN OR SWIM FOR AT LEAST 2-3 WEEKS. MAKE SURE IT IS COVERED WITH A BREATHABLE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING, NOTHING SUFFOCATING.

If you have any concerns - please contact us right away at 631-290-8278

DOWN THE ROAD

Touch-ups

Some small color loss can be normal as a tattoo settles, especially on hands, feet, and high-friction areas. If your piece needs attention after healing, reach out to your artist and they'll take a look. Please note that touch-ups for color loss caused by improper aftercare like picking, peeling, sun, or swimming during healing, aren't offered free of charge, which is one more reason the steps above are worth following.
